The only other game I can think of which had this kind of issue on Steam (with the game defaulting to 32-bit regardless of your OS) was Mighty No. Then I copied the new "32-bit" folder from Warhead into the first Crysis' folder, and can now play the first Crysis in 64-bit. So, I deleted the 32-bit folder, and renamed the 64-bit folder to have the same name as the old 32-bit folder, while changing the names of the EXE and whatnot. The Steam version of Crysis doesn't have a 64-bit folder, but the Steam version of Crysis Warhead does have one (though it gets bypassed in favor of the 32-bit folder).
I think the issue had something to do with the fact that the Steam versions of Crysis and Crysis Warhead automatically launch the 32-bit version of each game, without giving you a choice between 32-bit and 64-bit. Click Add, type in the name of the admin account on your PC, hit OK thrice, and your game should work.I got Crysis to launch! Right click on the folder and select Properties. This can be My Games, Crysis, steamapps - anything that contains your Crysis files. Go to the folder where the game is installed. I am using a modified Bin32, though, which I got from the EA website from some user.
